Income tax deductions do not depend on your council: grants and deductions 2026.
In Xàtiva it goes through a responsible declaration: the documentation is filed with the council and there is no need to wait for a licence decision. We file it for you, along with the rest of the paperwork until the installation is fully legalised.
Xàtiva's online office publishes the procedure '12.1.- Declaració responsable d'obres' (SIA code 1783391), handled by the Planejament (planning) area, which is the route a rooftop self-consumption installation goes through: there is no specific solar procedure. It is filed before the work starts, and asks for the tax payment receipt, proof of the builder's identity, a detailed quote and, where needed, authorisation to place a skip on the public street. For the discount there is a separate procedure, 'Sol·licitud de Bonificació o Exempció d'un Tribut' (SIA 1783435), common to all municipal taxes. Above that sits the general Comunitat Valenciana rule: a declaración responsable for rooftop solar self-consumption on urban land (Decret Llei 14/2020 of the Consell, arts. 13-15, folded into the TRLOTUP).

The IBI tax ordinance sets a 50% discount for four years, for buildings that are mainly residential and use solar electricity with at least 1.85 kW of capacity. It is not automatic: you must apply for it, and it takes effect from the tax period after the application.
The ICIO tax rate in Xàtiva is 4%, and article 4.c of the ordinance discounts 50% of the bill when the work includes a solar thermal or electric system. The discounts under that article cannot be combined, so only one of them applies.
The one on the municipal online office is called 12.1 Declaració responsable d'obres, SIA code 1783391, handled by the Planejament area. It is filed before the work starts, with the tax payment receipt, proof of the builder's identity and a detailed quote for the installation.
Xàtiva's online office has its own procedure for that, Sol·licitud de Bonificació o Exempció d'un Tribut, SIA code 1783435, which covers any municipal tax and is filed with the property's land registry details. Since both solar discounts require an application, they do not apply on their own without it.
