Some councils knock a share off the local building works tax (the ICIO) and off IBI, the annual property tax, for a few years if you install solar panels. But every town regulates it in its own way: the percentage, the years, the requirements and the caps change from one by-law to the next, and sometimes from one year to the next.
That is why you will not find loose figures copied from other websites here. We only publish a figure once we have read it in that council’s current by-law, with its verification date. We are reviewing the by-laws one by one, starting with La Costera.
Want to know what applies in your town? Ask us. We check the by-law and tell you with the source in front of us. And if we do your installation, the paperwork for the reduction is included in our permits and legalisation service.
Beyond the council, there are also income tax deductions, which do not depend on your town hall. We explain them in grants and deductions 2026.
