What each piece of solar paperwork costs in the Valencia region

Finding out whether your panels are properly registered costs €49 with Spanish VAT included. Legalising an installation of up to 10 kW, €449. Putting the panels in your name, €199. Switching on compensation for your surplus, €99. Every line on this page carries its price, how that price works, and the public fee where there is one.

Prices reviewed on . The column headed Our turnaround is working days of our own work, counted from the moment the file is complete. What the council, the regional Industry department, the grid operator or your electricity supplier take is not ours to promise and is not added into that figure.

If you do not know which one you need, we will tell you

Three questions about your installation, all answerable from things you already have at hand, and we tell you which procedure is yours and what it costs. No details from you, and no Spanish acronyms to decode first.

My panels were never legalised

What it costs to legalise panels that are already up

The panels work and the filing never happened, or happened halfway. This is also where the loose technical documents live, the ones you get asked for once the file is moving.

I bought a house with panels on it

What it costs to put the panels in your name

Switching the electricity contract does not switch the owner of the installation. Sales, inheritances and the deregistration of a system that has been taken down all belong here.

What it costs to get paid for the energy you export

The panels produce and the bill does not show it. Compensation may never have been switched on, the file may be stuck between two bodies, or the problem may be in the bill itself.

What it costs to answer when documents are demanded

A letter has arrived with a date on it, or the file has sat still for months over one entry that does not add up. This is the gate with a clock, so it starts by working out what is actually being asked.

What the Spanish words on your paperwork mean

These names stay in Spanish on this page on purpose. They are the names that will appear on your file, on your receipt and in the letters you get, so translating them would leave you looking for a body that does not exist under that name. The same goes for the rule behind a public fee: where a line quotes one, it quotes it by its legal Spanish name and gives the date we read it, so you or your gestor can go and find that text.

Ayuntamiento
In plain English, your town council.
Generalitat Valenciana
In plain English, the regional government of Valencia.
Empresa distribuidora
In plain English, the company that owns the grid in your street.
Organismo de control autorizado
In plain English, an approved inspection body.
CAU
The code that identifies your self-consumption installation. Without it, your supplier cannot credit you for the energy you export.
Boletín, or certificado de instalación eléctrica
The electrical installation certificate, signed by a registered installer. It is the document buyers, suppliers and public bodies ask for most often.
IBI
The annual property tax your town council charges. Many councils in the area charge it at a reduced rate for a few years once panels are installed and the reduction is applied for in time.

Why the paperwork has a catalogue price and the installation does not

A filing can be closed

A filing is a set of documents, a procedure and a stretch of our working time. All of that can be described in full before starting, so it can carry a price. Where the variation is real, the price is published as a floor with its variables in the open, or as an upfront assessment that is credited back afterwards.

An installation comes out of a survey

What panels cost depends on the roof, the mounting, the covering, how the house consumes and how far away it is. Putting a catalogue figure on that would mean inventing it. What we do publish is the sector benchmark, with its source and its date, and the cost structure of a quote so you can compare like with like.

What solar panels cost, with the sector benchmark

How to read a price on this page

Fixed price
The amount is what you pay for the scope described on the service page. Anything outside that scope is quoted separately and with its own figure, never as a surprise on the invoice.
Price from
It is a real floor. Each service publishes what pushes it up and, where there is a closed ladder of bands, how far it goes. If your case moves up a band, you know before you order.
Upfront assessment
You first pay for an assessment with a tightly drawn scope, which is a fixed price in itself, and that amount is credited against the later work if you book it within the stated window.
  • VAT is inside. The figures are the final amount, with 21 per cent IVA included.
  • Public fees are outside. Where a public body charges a fee, it is paid on your behalf and the receipt is issued in your name. It is not our revenue and it is stated on the service line.
  • The published turnaround is ours. We commit to filing your case and following it up. What a public body decides, and when, is not ours to promise and is not promised on any line.
  • Services without a page of their own still exist. They appear here with their price even though there is no page yet where you can read the full scope. They are ordered by phone or through the contact form.

Questions about these prices

Do the prices on this page include Spanish VAT?
Yes. Every figure on this page is the final amount with 21 per cent IVA, the Spanish VAT, already inside it, so you can put it next to any other quote without doing sums. Where a public body also charges a fee, that fee sits outside the price and is written on the service line.
What does a price from mean, and how far up can it go?
A price from is a real floor, not bait. Each service publishes on its own page what pushes it up, and where there is a closed ladder of bands the top band is published too. If reviewing your case moves you up a band, you know before you order anything.
If I pay for an upfront assessment and then book the work, do I pay twice?
No. The assessment is credited against the work that resolves it. On the paperwork check, for instance: €49 credited back if you book a €199-or-more service within 30 days. The assessment is delivered and invoiced in its own right, so what happens next is a discount, never a cancelled invoice.
Why is the solar installation itself not priced on this page?
Because a filing has a scope you can define and an installation does not: it depends on the roof, the mounting, the way the house consumes and the distance. We publish the sector benchmark with its source and its date, and your figure comes from a survey, not from a table.

If your case is not on any of these lines
