Six things, none of which require you to know about electrics. The first three are enough to start sizing.
- Your latest electricity bill, with the CUPS supply code visible
- It is the only thing that identifies your supply point without ambiguity, and it shows which tariff you are on.
- The hourly consumption from your meter
- This is the figure that decides the size of the battery. A bill says how much you use each month; hourly data says when, which is what matters here. You download it from your grid operator's customer area and we explain how.
- Photos of the inverter and its rating plate
- They tell us in a minute whether your unit accepts a DC-coupled battery, whether it has to be AC coupled, or whether replacing it is the better move.
- Photos of where the battery would go and of the consumer unit
- Location and switchboard condition change the installation work, and with it the quote.
- Whether you want power during an outage, and on which circuits
- Backup is sized and wired beforehand, and it shapes which battery makes sense to buy.
- If you already have panels, the installation paperwork
- The battery goes onto what is already there. If that paperwork does not turn up, we start by checking the state of the official file.
